The Blog
This blog will be all about film reviews. I'm going to be watching a lot of movies, writing reviews, and hopefully not spoiling any movies you plan to watch.
Director: Ridley Scott
Black Hawk Down was about the infamous incident where a U.S. helicopter was shot down during a military operation. As a result, 19 U.S. serviceman were killed. Ridley Scott's portrayal of this was brilliant in that he showed both sides of the conflict. He showed the Somalis preparing that day, not knowing what was to common. But what really blew me away was how the emotion was showed. The stress of combat and the death that surrounded men was beyond evident. The realism displayed was stunning and the lengths taken to make the viewer feel as if they are in the fight and are experiencing what the men went through. The final scene when the men are safe and relived to be alive was particularly moving because it all suddenly seemed so real what these men had just endured.
